Award for Timbertrove from The Echo

TIMBERTROVE picked up another award, scooping Bronze in the Small Family Business Awards.

Located at the foot of the Dublin mountains in Kilakee, near the Hell Fire Club, Timbertrove won an award in the category: Best Small Family Business of the Year, at the annual awards held in the Mansion House.

Timbertrove has introduced many innovations since it was founded in 1986 by Henry and Shirley O’Kelly.

The family business has evolved from a timber-based business to one that incorporates a popular country store and café.

Shirley O’Kelly MIMI, Director/Financial Controller, Timbertove Country Store & Café said they were delighted to receive the latest award and look forward to serving the wider community in the years to come.

In 2012, the O’Kelly’s saw an opportunity to attract walkers and cyclists visiting the nearby Hellfire Club and Massy’s Wood, by opening a country store and café.

It has gained a reputation over the past ten years for its ‘home baking in the heart of the Dublin Mountains.’

The story of Timbertrove by Shirley O’Kelly, was published last year by Oak Tree Press, and available in book stores and from SuccessStore.com, priced at €18.95.
